Job Description

About the project
We're a small team building an AI-powered customer support tool. Companies upload their policy documents, and our help desk answers customer questions from those files. The product works, but the interface still carries the visual language and copy of an earlier inventory product — we need a designer to bring it in line with what it actually is.

What we need
Redesign the core surfaces so they read as one coherent support product:

Public marketing homepage (hero, feature cards, footer, legal pages)
Public help desk page (empty, mid-conversation, and handed-to-staff states)
Staff dashboard: document library, staff-side help desk, reports, and plans/billing
An embeddable chat widget (closed and open states)

Each screen at desktop and one mobile width.

Design constraints (existing system)

Palette: dark blue
#09275e, blue
#2563eb, gold
#e8b042, light grey
#f7f7f7
Square corners (no border radius), 2px borders on main cards
Uppercase buttons with wide letter-spacing
Plain, human copy — no exposed model names, API keys, or "AI chatbot" labels. Use: Help Desk, Library, Reports, Plans, Support, You

You're a good fit if you

Have shipped SaaS or dashboard interfaces before
Can work within an existing design system rather than replacing it
Write clear product copy (empty states, plan cards, error messages)

Deliverables

Figma (or equivalent) source for each screen
Final copy for hero, features, empty states, plan cards, widget greeting
Notes on how to handle leftover screens from the old product

Job Skills

SaaS / dashboard interface design (B2B product experience)
Working within an existing design system and token set, not replacing it
Responsive design — desktop and mobile
UX writing: empty states, plan/pricing cards, error messages, microcopy
Figma (source files, components, handoff to engineers)
Information hierarchy and layout for data-dense screens (tables, stat cards, reports)
Designing conversational/chat UI (help desk panels, embeddable widget)
Attention to visual detail — color, spacing, typography, consistency across screens

Questions

Our product still looks like the old inventory tool it grew out of, even though it's now an AI support desk. Pick one screen — say, the public help desk or the plans page — and tell us in a few sentences how you'd make it read as a support product without rebuilding our existing design system. What would you change first, and why?
